The term “pizza” first appeared in Latin text dating from 997 AD. A dish of the poor people sold in the streets of Medieval Naples, pizza was not considered a kitchen recipe until the 18th century. Legend has it that King Ferdinand of Naples and the Two Sicilies disguised himself as a commoner and visited a poor neighbourhood in Naples “to sink his teeth into a food that the Queen had banned from the royal court”.

Tomo, also the owner of Pizza E Pazzi on St. Clair Ave. in Toronto, recognized the demand for genuine Italian fare in Oakville, drawing inspiration from Aleksandra's hometown. Aleksandra, a Real Estate Broker in Oakville and surrounding areas, brought her expertise and love for her community to Verace's vision. Together, they envisioned a dining destination that embodies true Italian culture, and Verace was born.
Since opening its doors on August 27, 2021, Verace has been a beacon of Italian authenticity, offering a delightful blend of tradition and innovation. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aromas of freshly baked Neapolitan pizza from our wood-burning oven - a centerpiece of our kitchen, handcrafted in Italy by the renowned Acunto family.
